Cabaret For A Cause Benefits CSH!

On February 12th, Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School hosted their annual Cabaret Concert. Each year, the school chooses a beneficiary for the event and 2020 was dedicated to Children’s Specialized Hospital. The fundraiser was led by Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School senior Gabrielle Klausner, a dedicated member of the Long Term Care Center (LTC), which is home to 46 children at Children’s Specialized Hospital. She collected over 200 books to start a new library, and established a new program where she visits the LTC to run their recreational therapy sessions. Klausner was inspired to continue giving back and organized this fundraiser.

The community was invited to a night of musical theater performed by student choir ensembles and soloists. In lieu of admission tickets, concert goers were encouraged to donate to the Long Term Care Center at Children’s Specialized Hospital.  Donations will go towards funding specialized care for the children who live there, as well as equipment and toys for the kids.

Our 2020 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion, Leah, also attended to share her story. Jan Allen, the Choir Director at SPFH, has a personal relationship with Leah and visited her during her time at Children’s Specialized Hospital. Talk about full circle! This event brought the community together and ended on a high note raising $2,556!

Thank you to Gabi and the Klausner Family, Jan Allen and the entire choir group at SPFH!
