Extra Life 24-hour Gaming Marathon Raises Over $207,000 for Children’s Specialized Hospital!

On Saturday, November 3, Extra Life gamers united for a 24-hour gaming marathon, raising over $207,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ local New Jersey beneficiary Children’s Specialized Hospital. The funds raised will purchase new cardiac monitors for Children’s Specialized Hospital’s inpatient program in New Brunswick, NJ. The cardiac monitors are critically needed diagnostic/monitoring equipment for Children’s Specialized Hospital’s Infant and Toddler program.

“We are so grateful for the funds raised by the Extra Life gamers. The cardiac monitors would allow clinicians, nurses, and therapists to provide the best possible care to some of our most fragile patients receiving acute rehabilitation in the Infant Toddler Program,” said Dr. Carla P. Cangemi of Children’s Specialized Hospital’s Infant and Toddler Program.

Extra Life gamers share the common goal of helping children and families facing devastating illness and/or injury. “We are amazed and moved by the way in which Extra Life gamers use their passion for games, from PS4 to classic board games, to make a real difference in the lives of children in their community,” said Nicole Hudson, Director of Fundraising and Operation for Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation.
