Toms River Walmart Employee Makes a Difference

Local Walmart and Sam’s Club’s across the country are participating in their annual fundraising campaign with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, from now until July 19th! By asking for donations at the register, local stores are raising funds and awareness for their hospitals, all while navigating through the COVID-19 Pandemic.

One of our local Walmart stores in Toms River, New Jersey goes above and beyond for our kids every year! For the last three years, they have been the highest fundraising store for Children’s Specialized Hospital! Not only do they recognize the need for healthcare funding, but one employee also recognized the need for Personal Protective Equipment.

Sophia, hand made over 100 masks for our patients and their families utilizing our outpatient care. Handmade masks are a great gesture and resource for our families who may not have the means of purchasing their own PPE equipment during this time. Sophia created masks for all ages, including fun designs for kids, colorful masks for moms, and even masks for our dads!

Thank you Sophia and the Toms River Walmart for going above and beyond for our patients! We are so grateful for your support and are looking forward to the rest of the campaign!
